AROMATHERAPHY

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, which means treating with scents, is a therapy that uses aroma for healing and promotes a sense of well being. Aromatherapy is useful for the relaxation of the mind. It is use for calming, energizing, and for uplifting and refreshing. The main benefits come from the pleasant fragrances that helps the body physically and emotionally to promote good health and well being, depending on the essential oil or oil combination.

Aromatherapy, offers you many ways to deal with the stresses you may be experiencing. The effects of aromas on your mind and emotions can make you feel better about yourself and situation? Aromas can improve your mood, reduce stress, give you more energy, help you relax and even help you to fall asleep more easily.

Aromatherapy uses the extracted aromas of essential oils obtained from the source of leaves, certain plants, flowers, roots, trees, and the peel of certain fruits. The most common form of extraction is by steam distillation. Distillation uses water and steam to remove the oils from dried or fresh plants, and a machine is use to squeeze the oil out of plants.

Aromatherapy is one of the most popular ways for healing therapy. You already practice the art of aromatherapy and don’t realize it. For example; when we walk past a bakery, we may stop and take a deep breath in and smell that freshly baked bread, pies or other goodies... Or when you visit a gift shop you inhale the smells of candles and fragrances that confront you when you first walk through the door. Imagine yourself walking along a country road and you smell the trees, the fragrant bushes and flowers in bloom. You breathe in deeply to really enjoy and savor the aroma of the country … and suddenly you feel your anxiety melt away. Scents can transport you, taking you away from your daily stresses.

Some of the more common aromatherapy applications are candles, incense, fragrance bath products, lamp rings, massage oils, and diffusers. Essential oils are the best way to get the benefits of aromatherapy; however the fragrance itself can still be beneficial to you.

When purchasing candles for aromatherapy reasons it is best to purchase soy candles because soy is cleaner burning with a higher scent throw and less soot, bringing you that much more scent than regular candles. There are many fragrances and different sizes of candles.

Incense can be found in many forms including your regular stick incense, cones, charcoal, powder, resins, and others. The charcoal incense instead has a very clean burning, non-woodsy scent, giving you more fragrance and less of that smokiness.

Bath Products and Pulse Point Rubs can bring aromatherapy personal. By bathing in or with aromatic oils, the fragrance will stay on you for awhile wherever you go. However, you should make sure that the fragrance you are getting has the right benefits you would like. Generally lavender is used for relaxation, peppermint for energy, ylang-ylang for passion or love, chamomile for calm, frankincense & myrrh or nag champa for meditation, and sage for cleansing.

Aromatherapy can benefit everyone, and is available in so many different forms that it is easily accessible and easy to use no matter whom you are. Scent affects our lives in so many ways.
